The Best Of One Of A Kind Christmas 2012
Tuesday, December 4, 2012 As I'm sure you know, I recently exhibited at the Toronto One of a Kind Christmas Show & Sale. Although I was busy at my own booth for the majority of the 11 days, I did manage to sneak away for an hour one day to enjoy the show as an attendee.
Here are the booths that stood out for me this year...
For your home...
1. Bookhou

I know I include them in my roundup every year, but they deserve it every year! Visit them year round at their 798 Dundas St. West storefront.

A new fave of mine. They create hand dyed textiles for use in your home & wardrobe. I smell a collaboration ahead!
3. Keephouse

A fellow Rising Star, they create screen-printed, wood & textile homewares. When I tried to buy a set of coasters (on day 3) they were already sold out!
For your walls...

Weird, whimsical & wonderful. What more is there to say?
2. Kelly Grace

While my friend Avril Loreti won best booth (and totally deserved it), this booth was a close second. Not only is her art extraordinary, but she used viewfinders to create a truly interactive experience.

Located diagonal from my booth, I had the pleasure of staring at their punchy art all day, every day. During which time, I decided that these kooky images, screen-printed onto wood veneer, were my fave!
For your wardrobe...
1. Biko

I'm a necklace girl and they have lots to choose from. Have a look through their lookbook and check out my fave piece on their site, the Binoculars Necklace.
2. Grace

Their bags, scarves & bangles are exploding with a few of my favourite things; colour, pattern & global influence!

Fun & fresh, my fave thing about her collection is that the pieces are substantial. I'm not one for delicate, dainty jewelry, so these weighty necklaces & bracelets are absolute perfection. Plus, her quirky imagery gets me excited about wearing her pieces.
